 In
"Driving Mrs. Fortescue"
(series 2, episode 2),
Hyacinth offers the wealthy practically aristocrat Mrs. Fortecue to give
her a lift to town. Unfortunately, nothing goes to plan. Mrs. Fortescue is
"kidnapped" by her low class sisters Daisy and Rose, and dragged into a
public house in which Hyacinth doesn't want to be seen. The pub seen in the
show is the Rugby Tavern outside Royal Leamington Spa, on the way to Rugby, 10 miles from
the Bucket residence.
It has been renovated and is now bright and welcoming. It
looks more like a family restaurant rather than the dark old smoky pub seen
in the show. Nice food, large portions, reasonable prices, well worth a
visit.
